What Is Cold Brew Coffee? 

Cold brew coffee, sometimes shortened to just cold brew, is made by steeping ground coffee in water for hours. After steeping, the grounds are strained out, and the leftover coffee is kept chilled before serving.  

Is It the Same as Iced Coffee? 

Cold brew and iced coffee are often confused with each other, but they aren’t exactly the same.

  • Cold brew is made by steeping coffee grounds at room temperature or in the fridge. 
  • Iced coffee is made by brewing regular hot coffee and chilling it or serving it over ice. 
  • Cold brew is more heavily concentrated, meaning it has a bolder taste and higher caffeine content.
